Mother settles JetBlue lawsuit after son flown to wrong city

NEW YORK – A New York City woman has agreed to settle her lawsuit against JetBlue Airways after it mixed up her 5-year-old son with another boy and flew him to the wrong city.

Maribel Martinez’s lawyer announced the settlement on Tuesday, saying the matter was resolved amicably. No other settlement details have been released.

The New York-based airline has declined to comment.

Martinez went to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to meet the flight her son, Andy, was supposed to be on but was presented with the other boy instead.

Both boys had flown out of the Dominican Republic. Andy had been put on a flight to Boston instead of New York. The other boy had been put on the flight to New York instead of the Boston-bound flight he was supposed to be on.
