Alleged shoplifter caught on camera

Enderby cops are asking for the public’s help in identifying an alleged shoplifter.

On February 27, 2013 around 4 p.m., a man walked into Enderby Jewelers, located at 608 Cliff Avenue, and asked to see their gold chains.

The clerk opened the glass cabinets containing the chains and the man requested one be weighed.

When the clerk was distracted looking for a scale, the man reached into the unlocked cabinet and took a gold chain.

"The clerk returned with the scale unaware of what had happened and when she turned to weigh a chain, the man pocketed more jewelry," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said.

The man left the store shortly afterwards without making a purchase.

In all, 3 gold chains were stolen valued at over $2,300.

The man is described as:
-Caucasian
-6'3" and 280 lbs
-Short brown hair
-A tattoo of "Celtic Keys" on the back of his neck

Anyone with any information regarding this incident or the man's identity is asked to call the Enderby RCMP at 250-838-6818.
