Man breaks into Vernon home, helps himself to a snack
VERNON – A local man accused of breaking into a woman’s home not only helped himself to her personal belongings — he also made himself something to eat.
A local woman phoned 911 around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 after she found a strange man in her house, RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says.
“He had collected some of her property and also made himself something to eat,” Noseworthy says in a media release.
The man fled the residence but was eventually located and arrested. His name isn’t being released, but Noseworthy says he is 34 years old and from Vernon.
He was due to appear in Vernon Provincial Court Nov. 17 on charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property.
Noseworthy did not say what the man made to eat.
