KAMLOOPS – A Surrey man is dead after what police call a ‘tragic incident’ at Paul Lake Saturday afternoon.
Cpl. Cheryl Bush says rural RCMP were called to the lake after an 84-year-old male was pulled from the water and in need of medical assistance.
The man who was vacationing with his wife went into the lake to cool off when he suddenly became unable to swim. Nearby neighbours helped pull the man from the lake and he taken by air ambulance to Royal Inland Hospital. He died later in the evening.
Bush says his death is not considered suspicious.
Paul Lake is about 30 minutes northeast of Kamloops.
