Vernon loses one of three walk-in medical clinics

VERNON – Access to medical care in Vernon is shrinking as a walk-in clinic closes its doors.

The Vernon Family Doctors Walk-In Clinic at the Fruit Union Plaza on Highway 6 has announced it’s closing permanently on March 19, 2016.

The clinic is encouraging patients to attend their regular family physicians, and for those without family doctors to see one of the other two walk-in clinics in Vernon.

The other clinics in Vernon are Gartree Medical Clinic in the Vernon Square Mall and the North Okanagan Medical Clinic at the Real Canadian Superstore.

No one from the clinic was readily available to comment on the closure, but we will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
