New rules, new date confirmed for Centre of Gravity 2016

KELOWNA – Kelowna’s biggest extreme sports and music festival has announced it will be returning again in 2016, but with a few changes.

The most significant change is instead of happening the end of July, Centre of Gravity 2016 will take place July 8 to 10.

This is the second date change to the beach festival sponsored by Monster Energy. Two years ago it took place on the B.C. Day long weekend, but was moved last year because of the impact 20,000 additional tourists had on local infrastructure.

This year organizer Scott Emslie says there will also be a minimum age for some shows.

Everyone will be welcome at any of the five sports zones, including wake boarding, skateboarding, BMX, beach volleyball and basketball, but you’ll have to be at least 16 years old to see music acts in the Concert Bowl.

Wet Ape Promotions has not yet released the music lineup for 2016 but you can check out their website or Facebook page for regular updates.

Monster Energy Center of Gravity will be back next summer on a brand new weekend: July 8 – 10, 2016! To get you ready…
