The Latest: Suspect charged in fatal Anchorage shooting

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Latest on the shooting death of a man at a southeast Anchorage home:

12:30 p.m.

A 32-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and burglary in the shooting death of a man at a southeast Anchorage home.

Anchorage police say Trayvon Morrissette was held in the death Monday night of 30-year-old Jorge Rea-Villa.

The men knew each other but police don’t know a motive for the shooting at a holiday barbeque.

Rea-Village suffered gunshot wounds and was declared dead inside the home.

Witnesses say Morrissette after the shooting fled in a tan sedan.

Police say he broke into one apartment and attempted to break into others. Police found Morrissett in a stairwell.

He’s jailed at the Anchorage jail with bail set at $500,000.

Online court documents do not list an attorney for Morrissett.

7:40 a.m.

A suspect has been taken into custody in a fatal shooting in southeast Anchorage.

Police just after 7:30 p.m. Monday responded to a call of a shooting and found a man dead in a mobile home on Lore Road.

He had been shot more than once.

The suspect was detained later Monday night.

The suspect was taken to the police department for questioning.
