Driver flees scene after flipping car in Vernon

VERNON – Emergency responders in Vernon were unable to locate the driver after a single vehicle accident last Friday.

Deputy fire chief Lawrie Skolrood says the department responded to the Orchard Hill Road accident, near Bella Vista Road, about 10:51 p.m., Nov. 27.

“It was a rollover down an embankment,” Skolrood says. “No one was in the vehicle.”

The white vehicle rolled and landed on its wheels, he says. Responders checked the surrounding area but could not locate the driver.

“Whoever it was left the scene. Obviously they’re not too badly hurt,” Skolrood says, adding police were notified about the incident.

Infonews.ca’s calls to the Vernon RCMP for more information have not yet been returned.
