Blazers host Food Bank Night and Teddy Bear Toss Night
KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Blazers will host their annual Food Bank and Teddy Bear Toss nights this Friday and Saturday against the Portland Winterhawks and the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Friday, Dec. 4, is Food Bank Night presented by Cooper’s Foods as the Blazers host the Winterhawks. Fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation to support the Kamloops Food Bank.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the Blazers host their annual Teddy Bear Toss game presented by the Zimmer Autogroup.
The Teddy Bear toss game is a tradition that started in Kamloops during the 1993-94 season. It is estimated over 50,000 teddy bears have been collected and distributed in the community over the past 22 years.
It is asked that you bring small stuffed animals or winter wear in a plastic bag to throw on the ice when the Blazers score their first goal of the game.
The Blazers will also be holding an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater for the chance to win prizes. Show us what sweater you are going to wear on social media by using #BlazersUglySweater for a chance to win tickets to the game.
The first 2,500 fans into the building will be given Kamloops Blazers texting gloves. They will keep you warm and allow you to use on a smart phone.
