How you can get rid of that unpaid parking ticket for the price of a toy

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – For a donated toy you can get your Impark parking ticket waived and brighten a kid's Christmas at the same time.

The annual Toys of Tickets event will be held for four hours on Thursday in Kamloops and Kelowna, according to a media release.

Just bring a new, unused and unwrapped toy to Salvation Army Community Church, and Impark will wave your violation. 

If you’ve got a fist full of tickets stuffed in your glove box, Impark will accept one toy for every unpaid ticket. Just bring your violation notice, statement or license plate number to ensure proper credit is given.

Toys can be dropped off at the Salvation Army churches at 344 Poplar St. in Kamloops and 1480 Sutherland Ave. in Kelowna.

Along with the traditional toys, the Salvation Army has identified a need for movie, make-up and music gift cards, along with puzzles, books and DVDs.
