Fallen tree knocks out power in Vernon

About 60 BC Hydro customers in the Dixon Dam Road area of Vernon are doing without air conditioning this afternoon.

A large pine tree fell on power lines around 12:25 p.m.

Dag Sherman with BC Hydro says a crew is on the scene.

The power line snapped. It was sparking and arcing when the Hydro crew arrived. The pine tree was across the line.

Sherman figures the power should be back on by about 3:30 p.m.
