Shed fire in Lake Country quickly put out

LAKE COUNTRY – A minor shed fire in Lake Country early this morning was partially extinguished before fire crews arrived.

Firefighters from both the Lake Country and Kelowna Fire Departments were called around 2 a.m., Dec. 13, to the shed fire at a mobile home on Beaver Lake Road, according to a media release.

Kelowna platoon Capt. Tim Light says the fire was partially extinguished by the home owner and his son when crews arrived. They completed putting out the fire.

There was only some damage to the outside of the building and minimal damage inside due to the quick actions of the pair, Light says.

No word on the cause of the fire.
