Snowfall warning continues for Coquihalla Highway

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – A snow fall warning remains in effect for the Coquihalla Highway today.

A slow moving low pressure system is making its way across southern B.C. producing rain in the valley bottoms and dumping snow at higher elevations, according to Environment Canada.

Forecasters say between 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall on Highway 5 from Merritt to Hope today, Dec. 13, adding to the 10 to 15 cm which fell yesterday and overnight.

A snowfall warning in place for Highway 3 from the Kootenay Pass to the Paulson Summit has been lifted since significant snowfall accumulation is no longer expected in that area.
