Holiday changes to curbside collection and landfill hours in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – With several holiday days left in 2015, schedule changes to curbside garbage and recycling pickup in the City of Kamloops will impact residents during the last week of December.

There is no collection Dec. 25 and 28, and Jan. 1. This will result in all areas getting pushed back two days and no collection for zones one and five (Batchelor Heights-Westsyde and Dallas-Barnhartvale neighbourhoods) the week after Christmas and then another day the first week of January.

In addition to curbside pickup, the city’s landfill hours have changed as well. Both Mission Flats and Barnhartvale are closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Heffley Creek Eco-Depot, run by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, is closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The Mission Flats Landfill is regularly open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Barnhartvale open the same times Friday through Monday. Heffley Creek runs Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
