PENTICTON – The Penticton ANAVETS recently presented a cheque to the local army cadets program.
Jack Martin, president of the Penticton ANAVETS (Army, Navy, Air Force Veterans) Unit #97, presented the cheque to Warrant Officer Maggie Jones of the 788 BCD Army Cadets in Penticton. The presentation was made on Wednesday, Dec. 9, while the cadets were conducting air rifle training.
The Penticton Army Cadets recently celebrated their 75th anniversary as a youth program in Penticton. The support from the ANAVETS enables the program to continue and is very much appreciated.
Youth ages 12 to 18 are welcome to join the Penticton Army Cadets and can see what army cadets is all about on Wednesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. at 439 Winnipeg St., Penticton, or through the website at 788armycadets.weebly.com.
