Kelowna Rockets downed by Blades in Saskatoon

SASKATOON, Sask. – The Saskatoon Blades defeated the Kelowna Rockets 5-3 at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on Saturday night, Dec. 19, closing out its six game road trip at 3-3-0-0.

Tyson Baillie scored a pair of goals to stake Kelowna to a 2-0 lead but the Blades scored four times in the second period to earn the win.

Justin Kirkland also scored for the Rockets while Jackson Whistle suffered the loss in net. Saskatoon was 2-for-3 on the power play while the Rockets were 0-for-2.

The loss closes out the Rockets pre-Christmas schedule with the Rockets sitting in first place in the WHL with a 25-9-1-0 record.

Kelowna returns to action with a home and home series with the Kamloops Blazers, playing in Kamloops Dec. 27 and in Kelowna on Dec. 28.
