TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A western Indiana woman charged with neglect in the 2016 death of her disabled 5-year-old daughter has reached a plea agreement.
The Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports that Tiffany Daugherty faces a sentence of 21 years, with a minimum of 10 years to be served in prison or community corrections. Sentencing is July 19 on charges including neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury and reckless homicide.
Daugherty and the child’s father Brian Moseman were arrested last year. Authorities say the couple failed to provide adequate nutrition and follow-up medical care for Adilynn Moseman.
The father’s trial is set for Aug. 6.
Documents say a forensic pathologist told investigators shortly after the death there were no signs of physical abuse, but the girl had microcephaly, seizures and other issues.
