UPDATE: HIghway 97C re-opened near Brenda Mines

UPDATE: The road closed because of a jack-knifed semi was re-opened around 11:30 a.m.

KELOWNA – You probably shouldn't have tried making that trip to the coast, anyway.

Highway 97C westbound is closed due to a vehicle incident at the Brenda Mine Road exit, according to Drive B.C.

No detour is available and Drive B.C. has no anticipated opening time. The next update is expected at 1 p.m. Check the website for the latest information.

As you can see from the recent webcam photo, the Coquihalla Connector is under heavy winter conditions with compact snow and slippery sections along the route.
