Abbotsford, B.C., police warn about three men involved in escalating violence
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Police in the Fraser Valley community of Abbotsford, B.C., have issued an unusual public safety warning for anyone who may be in contact with three men involved in violence, drugs and weapons.
Sandeep Sidhu, Jimi Sandhu and Gavinder Grewal are well known to police and have a variety of convictions including assault, extortion, trafficking and possession of weapons, said Sgt. Casey Vinet.
“We believe it’s in the public’s best interest that the identities of these three men are known so that people associating with them or in close physical proximity to them understand their safety could be in danger,” Vinet said.
“We believe they pose a significant risk of harm to the safety of our community.”
Vinet said one of the men is from Abbotsford and the others live in Langley and Vancouver.
Police have made efforts to curtail escalating tensions between the trio but officers remain concerned that violence may erupt in public settings, he said.
The men are South Asian and range in age from 25 to 27 years old.
They are all prohibited from possessing firearms.
