Kamloops RCMP on hunt for suspect in Boxing Day robberies

KAMLOOPS – RCMP suspect the same man is behind a pair of robberies in Kamloops on Boxing Day.

RCMP say the first happened at about 4:10 p.m., Dec. 26, when a man walked into the Walmart photo studio and demanded money. He said he had a gun, but didn’t produce one.

Ten minutes later, a man pulled a gun on a woman who was sitting in her car in the parking lot of Mark’s Work Wearhouse on Hillside Drive and demanded she hand over her purse, according to a media release.

Police say a pickup truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle used in both robberies was reported stolen at about 9 p.m.

RCMP are on the lookout for a white Dodge 2500 extended cab pickup with rusted wheel wells and a checker plate toolbox in the bed. The B.C. licence plate number is CR 6916.

The suspect in both robberies is described about 6’ tall with a round face. He was wearing a black hoodie with a white DC logo, two-toned jeans and green gloves.

Police are asking anyone who sees the stolen vehicle or the suspect to not approach them but to contact the Kamloops RCMP immediately.
