Suspect in custody after rash of thefts from vehicles in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – RCMP have a suspected thief in custody after a tip from a member of the public.

Police were investigating a number of theft from vehicle complaints in Lower Sahali and the College Heights area, which happened between Dec. 24 and Dec. 26, when they received a call from a citizen reporting suspicious activity.

“With the information provided, police were able to give chase to the suspect and after a lengthy foot pursuit, were able to apprehend the individual,” Sgt. Karen Delorey says in a media release.

The suspect was caught with items the police think may be stolen property.

“The investigation into this matter remains ongoing and at this time the Kamloops RCMP would like to thank the many citizens who also assisted officers in locating the suspect,” she says.

Kamloops RCMP have been dealing many cases of thefts from vehicles over the last few months.

If you are missing anything from your car or truck, give the Kamloops RCMP a call because they may have recovered it.
