National Business Book Award unveils short list of 3 finalists

TORONTO – Journalist Alfred Hermida, reporter Jacques Poitras and marketing strategist Clive Veroni have made the short list for the National Business Book Award.

Hermida is associate professor at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

He made the list with “Tell Everyone: Why We Share and Why it Matters” (Doubleday Canada).

Poitras is a finalist for “Irving vs. Irving: Canada’s Feuding Billionaires And The Stories They Won’t Tell” (Viking Canada).

And Veroni made the cut for “Spin: How Politics has the Power to Turn Marketing on its Head” (House of Anansi Press).

The $20,000 prize will be awarded on April 16.

This year’s jury is chaired by CBC News anchor Peter Mansbridge.

Other jurors include William Dimma, Deirdre McMurdy, David Denison, Anna Porter and Pamela Wallin.
