KAMLOOPS – Thieves shattered a downtown store window with a fire extinguisher last night, Dec. 29, and made off with three swimsuits from a display.
“It could have been a lot worse,” Bill Sanesh, owner of Bikini Bills on Victoria Street, says.
Sanesh says he received a phone call from the RCMP around 7 a.m. When he arrived, he and the officer on scene looked to see if a suspect was in the building.
Nothing else was taken from the store, which Sanesh says is similar to a separate break-in he experienced when thieves made off with three pairs of sunglasses worth $15 each.
“This in my opinion is another drug fuelled thing. They’re high and they become impulsive,” he says. “Downtown has been going downhill; there’s been a big erosion in safety."
Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area last night is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
