RICHMOND, Va. – In a story July 16, 2020, about prisoners released during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Associated Press, relying on numbers provided by the Rhode Island’s Department of Corrections, incorrectly reported the number of sentenced prisoners in the state had dropped by 32%. It was 18%.
