Makin’ noise? Good, says Alice Cooper, who helps launch Rock ‘n’ Roll Academy for teens in US
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – To all the girls and boys, makin’ all that noise: Alice Cooper has found you some new toys.
The heavy metal icon was in South Dakota on Wednesday helping launch a 6,000-square-foot (557-square meter) rock ‘n’ roll academy in Sioux Falls that’ll be exclusively open to local Boys & Girls Club members.
Cooper opened his long-dreamed Rock Teen Center in Phoenix last week, and he says he wanted to help his friend Chuck Brennan offer a similar opportunity in Brennan’s hometown.
Brennan, who founded Dollar Loan Center, says the centre will teach students how to sing or play guitar, bass, keyboards or drums.
Cooper says the best way to get teenagers off the street is to give them a guitar, teach them how to play and get them into a band.
