SURREY, B.C. – Homicide investigators in B.C. have released the identity of a woman whose death is being described as suspicious.

Police found the body of 25-year-old Salamawit Girma in a Surrey home (near 127th Street and 103rd Avenue) late Friday.

Police were called in early the following morning after the death was deemed suspicious.

Police say the woman’s spouse has been in contact and has so far co-operated fully with the investigation.

Officers say they do not believe Girma’s death was random and will investigate whether foul play was a factor.

They say they do not believe nearby residents are at risk.
