Thieves nabbed after camera store smash and grab in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – A local business owner credits mother nature’s skiff of snow for helping Kamloops RCMP catch the thieves who stole expensive camera equipment from his shop this morning.

John Enman from Enman’s Camera at 423 Tranquille Rd. says police arrested a couple of suspects who broke into his store around 4 a.m., Jan. 4, after using a police dog to track footprints in the fresh snow.

“Boy was I unlucky that they broke in, but lucky that it snowed,” Enman says, adding the thieves broke into the rear of the building and smashed the window into his shop.

Enman believes police took either two or three people into custody.

He says his store which sells consignment camera equipment is missing numerous pieces – from cameras to lenses and a digital projector. He says police told him the suspects had the stolen property with them and expects to be reunited with it soon.
