Police sting nabs ecstasy pusher on grounds of Victoria high school
VICTORIA – Police in Victoria used a script from an old TV series to capture an accused ecstasy pusher on the grounds of a local high school.
The project, dubbed Operation Jump Street after the TV series and more lately a movie, began when officers learned a dealer had been targeting school-aged teenagers as clients.
Police say one of their undercover officers, posing as a student, bought drugs on the grounds of a local high school during the lunch hour and a suspect was arrested.
Police say they have information that the suspect had been selling drugs at many of the high schools throughout the Capital Regional District.
Officers purchased over 40 ecstasy pills during the operation and are now putting together enough information to recommend charges.
Police say when the suspect is brought before a judge, they’ll be asking for a number of strict conditions on his release.
