Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Legacy Oil + Gas Inc. (TSX:LEG). Oil and gas. Up two cents, or 1.25 per cent, to $1.62 on 5.7 million shares.

Twin Butte Energy Ltd. (TSX:TBE). Oil and gas. Down three cents, or 4.29 per cent, to 67 cents on 5.5 million shares.

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Down 25 cents, or 7.55 per cent, to $3.06 on 5.1 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Up $1.40, or 3.76 per cent, to $38.65 on 4.9 million shares.

Canadian Oil Sands Limited (TSX:COS). Oil and gas. Up 58 cents, or 5.68 per cent, to $10.79 on 4.4 million shares.

Allana Potash Corp. (TSX:AAA). Miner. Up half-a-cent, or 1.04 per cent, to 48.5 cents on 4.3 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Up 68 cents, or 1.26 per cent, to $54.44 on 1.1 million shares. Calgary-based TRP called off plans to build a marine terminal at Cacouna, Que., as part of its Energy East pipeline project, while also pushing back the project’s expected completion date by nearly two years. It decided to relocate the terminal in part because of concern for beluga whales near the site, which was to include storage tanks and a marine port for loading oil on ships.
