Masked men sought after targeted Kelowna home invasion

KELOWNA – RCMP are on the hunt for two suspects in connection with a home invasion in south central Kelowna early this morning.

Police says the two masked men — who were 'said to be carrying handguns' — broke into a home through an open back door in the 700 block of Morrison Avenue around 2:30 a.m., Jan. 7, according to an RCMP media release.

“Once inside the suspects allegedly assaulted one of the residents, a 32-year-old Kelowna man, who sustained minor injuries, which didn’t require medical attention,” Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release. “The suspects fled on foot prior to police arriving on scene.”

A police dog searched for the suspects, but investigators believe they got away in a vehicle.

“Police have confirmed this is an isolated and targeted incident, and strongly believe the suspects were known to the victim who refuses to co-operate with the police investigation,” O’Donaghey says in the release.
