Memorial Sunday in Kelowna for former B.C. premier Bill Bennett

KELOWNA – A celebration of life for former B.C. premier Bill Bennett will be held in Kelowna this weekend.

Bennett died Dec. 3, 2015, at age 83 in his hometown of Kelowna, after suffering from Alzeimer’s for many years.

He was premier of the province for 11 years until 1986, making him the third longest serving premier.

The celebration of life will take place at the Delta Grand Hotel on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Bennett’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society, Suite 307 -1664 Richter Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 8N3.

Condolences, photos and memories can be shared at the Springfield Funeral Home website.
