Victoria Police chase down scooter driver for drunk driving

VICTORIA – A Victoria man has learned the hard way that drinking and driving will land you in jail — even if you’re driving a scooter.

Police in Victoria were operating a road block early Friday when they spotted a man on a scooter who attempted to avoid the police check.

Police say the driver was so intoxicated that he fell over.

After quickly getting to his feet, the driver turned his scooter in the opposite direction in an attempted to get away.

He didn’t get far before he collided with a car and then a taxi, and then tried to get way on foot.

Police quickly caught up to the man, who’s breath sample was two and a half times the legal limit and now faces charges of impaired driving.
