CRANBROOK, B.C. – Brock Montgomery scored twice and set up one more as the Kootenay Ice defeated the visiting Saskatoon Blades 4-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist for the Ice (2-5-0), who snapped a three-game losing streak, and Jagger Dirk added a single goal.
Josh Nicholls had two goals and an assist for the Blades (2-7-0), who have no dropped five straight contests, and Shane McColgan had a goal and an assist.
Mackenzie Skapski stopped 27 shots for the win as Andrey Makarov made 24 saves in a losing effort.
Kootenay went 1-for-3 on the power play while Saskatoon failed to score on its only opportunity with the man advantage.
