Nyberg scores winner early in the second period as the Rockets down the Royals
VICTORIA – Henrik Nyberg’s second period goal stood up as the winner as the Kelowna Rockets downed the host Victoria Royals 4-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Damon Severson, Zach Franko and Colton Sissons also scored for the Rockets (4-4-1) while Myles Bell chipped in with two assists.
Mitch Deacon scored the lone goal for the Royals (6-4-0), who have dropped back-to-back contests.
Jackson Whistle stopped 20 shots for the win as Patrik Polivka turned away 27 shots in a losing effort.
Kelowna went 1-for-5 on the power play while Victoria failed to score on seven chances with the man advantage.
