Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up nine cents, or 3.52 per cent, to $2.65 on 39.9 million shares.

Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSX:R). Miner. Up one cent, or 2.22 per cent, to 46 cents on 12.1 million shares.

Trevali Mining Corp. (TSX:TV). Miner. Unchanged at $1.05 on 12.02 million shares.

Spartan Energy Corp. (TSX:SPE). Oil and gas. Up nine cents, or 2.90 per cent, to $3.19 on 10.9 million shares.

Rio Alto Mining Limited (TSX:RIO). Miner. Down seven 19 cents, or 1.97 per cent, to $3.48 on 9.3 million shares.

Legacy Oil + Gas Inc. (TSX:LEG). Oil and gas. Up 16 cents, or 8.65 per cent, to $2.01 on 5.4 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Hudson’s Bay Company (TSX:HBC). Retailer. Up $1.49, or 5.56 per cent, to $28.29 on 1.7 million shares. HBC reported quarterly net income jumped to $111 million or 61 cents per share — nearly four times higher than a year earlier when it had unusual expenses related to the purchase in mid-2013 of Saks Inc., a luxury brand it describes as a growth opportunity in Canada.
