Carjacking and stabbing may be linked

KELOWNA – A man who stopped to help what he thought were stranded motorists was instead beaten and had his car stolen Tuesday morning.

RCMP Const. Kris Clark says the man stopped on Gordon Dr. at around 6 a.m. after he saw three men and one woman pulled to the side of the road.

“When he exited his vehicle he was struck over the head and his vehicle was stolen,” Clark says. “Two men and a women left in a brown vehicle and a third man left in his vehicle.”

A similar car, a white Subaru Imprezza, was later found destroyed by fire on a forest service road.

Clark says RCMP are also investigating a second incident that occurred in the same area in which a 20-year-old man who was walking on Gordon Dr. was robbed and then stabbed. The victim was able to reach KGH where he received 20 staples to the back of his head. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Police continue to investigate the connection between the two cases and ask that anybody with any information contact RCMP.
