Suspect in custody after West Kelowna gas station robbery

WEST KELOWNA – A gas station clerk in West Kelowna was the victim of a robbery Friday night.

West Kelowna RCMP were called to the Chevron on Dobbin Road just before 10:30 p.m., Jan. 8, with a report of a robbery in progress.

Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release the suspect entered the gas station and told the clerk to hand over the money.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a vehicle, but investigators were able to identify him and he was arrested in the 1800-block of Gordon Drive.

RCMP aren't saying how he was identified, when the arrest took place or if anyone was injured.

A 24-year-old West Kelowna man was held in custody over the weekend and had a court appearance scheduled Monday morning.
