Investigation underway into death at Kamloops business

KAMLOOPS – A lot of questions remain unanswered following the death of a person at a Kamloops business this morning.

RCMP were called to a sudden death at Inland Glass and Aluminum on Kryczka Place just after 8 a.m., Jan. 11.

Police say in a media release the death is not suspicious and they have turned the investigation over to the B.C. Coroners Service.

Worksafe B.C. has an investigator at Inland Glass today, according to spokesperson Trish Knight Chernecki.

She says Worksafe is still trying to determine if the person who died is a worker and if the death is an industrial accident.

“We know it was at a work site. We just don’t know if a worker was involved or not,” she says.

Knight Chernecki couldn’t comment on “the injury or the state of the individual.”

The person’s name and age haven’t been released.
