Canadian film producer and author Paul Almond dead at the age of 83

LOS ANGELES, – A Canadian film and television producer and author has died, Paul Almond was 83.

The man who maintained Almond’s official website says Almond died April 9 in a Los Angeles hospital.

David Stansfield says Almond was surrounded by his family when he died.

Almond’s website says he produced and directed more than 120 television dramas that were broadcast in Canada, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

His site also says he wrote a dozen plays for televisions and five movie screenplays.

Later in his life he turned to writing novels.

Stansfield says Almond’s final novel is due to be released April 15.
