Judge recesses ‘Suge’ Knight in murder case for ruling on trial until Thursday morning

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A judge has recessed a preliminary hearing for Marion “Suge” Knight without ruling on whether the former rap music mogul should stand trial on murder and other charges.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen ordered Knight to return to court to resume the hearing on Thursday morning. At that time, a sheriff’s detective will continue undergoing cross-examination by Knight’s lawyer.

Coen must decide whether there is enough evidence for the 49-year-old to stand trial on murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges filed after he struck two men, killing one, outside a Compton burger stand in late January.

Cle “Bone” Sloan, who Knight injured, testified Monday but said he could not recall many details about the incident. Sloan told detectives he started a fight before the altercation.
