Actor-director Timothy Busfield will work at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield will share his skills with students at Michigan State University.

The Lansing State Journal (http://on.lsj.com/1qHsaki ) says Busfield will develop programming for Michigan State’s public TV station and teach classes on acting and fiction films.

Prabu David, the dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, says Busfield is making a one-year commitment. It’s a homecoming: The 58-year-old lived in East Lansing as a child.

Busfield has had many roles in movies and television, including “Thirtysomething,” ”Field of Dreams” and “The West Wing.” He’s also worked as a director.

Busfield lives in Michigan with wife Melissa Gilbert.
