Sam Smith, Nick Jonas, Hozier to perform at Billboard Music Awards next month

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sam Smith, Nick Jonas and Hozier will take the stage at the Billboard Music Awards.

Billboard announced the performers Tuesday. The show will air live on ABC on May 17 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Smith is the second most nominated act with 13, including top artist, Hot 100 song for “Stay With Me” and Billboard 200 album for “In the Lonely Hour.” Taylor Swift is the leading nominee with 14 nominations.

Hozier is up for five awards, including top new artist and rock song for “Take Me to Church.” Jonas is riding high off his solo hits “Jealous” and “Chains.”

They join previously announced performers Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa.

Ariana Grande, One Direction and Katy Perry will compete with Smith and Swift for top artist.
