Agent: Harper Lee’s novel ‘Go Set a Watchman’ already sold in 25 territories

LONDON – Harper Lee’s agent says her hotly anticipated novel “Go Set a Watchman” has been sold in 25 territories, including South Korea, China and Turkey.

The Guardian newspaper says agent Andrew Nurnberg told the London Book Fair that many more countries are interested in the book, due to be published in English on July 14. Nurnberg’s office confirmed the 25-territory figure.

The Guardian says security around the “To Kill a Mockingbird” follow-up is so tight that international publishers have only been allowed to view the manuscript at Nurnberg’s London offices.

Also Tuesday, British Publisher Penguin Random House released a photo of the manuscript’s title page. It bears only the title and the author’s then-address in New York.

“Go Set a Watchman” was written before “To Kill a Mockingbird,” published in 1960.
