CFL fines Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive back Webb for helmet-to-helmet hit

TORONTO – Defensive back Dee Webb of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats was fined by the CFL on Wednesday for an illegal hit on B.C. Lions receiver Marco Iannuzzi during a game last Friday.

The amount of the fine wasn’t disclosed, as per league policy.

Webb was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play after delivering a helmet-to-helmet blow to the back of Iannuzzi’s head on an incompletion.

Iannuzzi was forced to leave the game with a suspected concussion and didn’t return.

B.C. went on to beat Hamilton 37-17 at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
