Homicide investigators in Burnaby, B.C., after man’s body found on street

BURNABY, B.C. – Police are investigating after a man was found lying dead on a street in Burnaby, B.C.

Mounties say the man’s body was discovered by a uniformed officer on routine patrol just before 3 a.m. Thursday (at the intersection of Moscrop Street and Smith Avenue).

The RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has now taken over the case and says foul play is suspected.

Crews taped off the area shortly after the man was found, and a stretcher carrying what appeared to be the body sat under a tarp.

Sergeant Stephanie Ashton says homicide investigators are hoping to speak with anyone who was in the area in the hours leading up to the body being discovered.
