Buck 65 back on CBC airwaves after deleting cryptic Facebook apology

TORONTO – CBC-Radio host Rich Terfry — also known to rap fans as Buck 65 — was back on the air Monday, hours after he deleted a confessional Facebook post that was circulating among fans.

In his post, the two-time Juno Award winner said he “destroyed every important relationship” in his life, including his marriage, by “cheating and lying.”

The Halifax native wrote that he needed help and apologized to the “good people” he’d hurt.

The 43-year-old Terfry still helmed “Radio 2 Drive” on Monday afternoon.

A spokesman for CBC said that Terfry’s issue was a “personal matter” that had “nothing to do with the workplace.”

Terfry’s post came days after the release of a report detailing how the CBC dealt with alleged inappropriate behaviour by former radio host Jian Ghomeshi, and how “host culture” created workplace inequality.

CBC spokesman Chuck Thompson said there was “no connection” between the findings in the report and Terfry’s deleted post.

In the fall, Terfry released an album called “Neverlove” that touched on the emotional trauma of his divorce, territory he also explored publicly via his Facebook page.

A representative for Terfry declined an interview request.
