Raptors big man Bismack Biyombo faces one-game suspension after flagrant foul

Toronto centre Bismack Biyombo was assessed a flagrant foul in the first quarter of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday night, meaning he could miss the series finale if it goes to Game 7.

The big man from the Democratic Republic of Congo floored Cleveland’s Kevin Love with his arm as he grabbed a rebound.

After a review, the officials took away the basket and assessed a Flagrant 1 foul. Biyombo waved his arms in disbelief at the call. He took a seat after getting his second personal foul of the game.

Biyombo already had a Flagrant 2 foul from the series against Indiana and a Flagrant 1 in Game 3 against the Cavaliers. The combination means a one-game suspension.

There was bad blood early in the second quarter when Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas and Cleveland’s Richard Jefferson got tangled up after Jefferson objected to being caught by a Valanciunas elbow.

Technicals were assessed on Jefferson, Valanciunas and Toronto’s Patrick Patterson.
