9-year-old boy fatally shot in head in Indianapolis area
CUMBERLAND, Ind. – Police say a 9-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head in the Indianapolis area.
Police in Cumberland say the shooting occurred Friday afternoon at an apartment complex in the community on the far east side of Indianapolis.
Officers say Anthony Harmon Jr. was found with a gunshot wound to his face in the kitchen of an apartment. Other people were in the apartment, and neighbours tried to offer aid.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
It wasn’t immediately clear who fired the shot that struck the child.
