Winnipeg police murder investigation gets new information about accused drifter
WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police say they have received new information in their investigation of a drifter accused of killing three aboriginal woman.
Const. Jason Michalyshen (mihk-ah-LISH’-en) says dozens of people have called a national tipline that was set up in the summer about Shawn Lamb.
Michalyshen won’t reveal the new information, but says it has prompted investigators to go back to people who have already called the tipline.
Police are asking people who used the line anonymously to call back.
Lamb is accused of second-degree murder in the deaths of Tanya Nepinak (NEE’-pih-nak), Carolyn Sinclair and Lorna Blacksmith.
The tipline was set up in part to determine whether Lamb might be connected to any unsolved cases.
