Shotgun killer of MTV music co-ordinator gets life in prison

LOS ANGELES – A man who killed an MTV music co-ordinator and another man during a series of Los Angeles robberies has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

City News Service says a judge who passed sentence Wednesday called 31-year-old Jabaar Thomas a “cold-blooded,” remorseless murderer.

Prosecutors say Thomas killed a father of two, Marcelo Aragon, in 2011 and a week later killed MTV music co-ordinator Gabriel Ben-Meir outside his home.

Both were killed by shotgun blasts during robberies.

Two other people have pleaded guilty in connection with a series of robberies and await sentencing.
